12/20 MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

Our last meeting was a great one! We ended the year by looking forward to 2006 -- both from the perspective of our individual businesses as well as the TCWebPros group. We came up with some great ideas moving forward.

Here are some highlights and decisions made in the last meeting.

Marketing/Branding/Showcasing Our Members Questionnaire Results:

What specifically do you want/need the most from this group?
A network of resources
Education
An opportunity to show work

Do you like the idea of member spotlights each month?
100% -- YES
This would give each member an opportunity to talk in detail about some of the projects they've worked on, their skills and qualifications. The thought is that this will promote further networking and sharing of resources within the group.

Do you think we need a logo?
88% -- YES
12% -- NO

Name two ways you would promote this group around the Twin Cities:
Have business cards printed specifically for the group, with meeting time and location
Add a link to the TCWebPros website to all of our sites
Add a tagline to all of our email signatures
Distribute flyers on St. Thomas (and other technical colleges) campus
Post meetings in the Star Tribune, Pioneer Press, other publications
Personal invitations to meetings
Ask for potential members and speakers at other networking groups we may belong to

Name one thing you'd like this group to help you with next year:
Meet more developers to work with
Practical tips
Opportunities to provide freelance work
Help clients with hosting solution
Exposure to new technologies

Name one topic you could share with the group, or an idea for a future presentation:
Podcasting / Videocasting
RSS Feeds
Roundtable discussion on sales topics
Case Studies -- have members talk about a project they worked on (i.e. challenges they faced, how they solved the problem)
Adding "interaction" to your websites
Business Model / Processes
Working between Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver

What would you recommend we change in 2006 to help the group grow and become better?
More communication between meetings
Followup with visitors to the group -- add a visitor host role
Create visitor packets to give to prospective members, containing a business card from each member
Add testimonials from group members to the web site
Leverage the website more -- add discussion groups
Create TCWebPros business cards to pass out to prospective members
Hold a membership drive to attract new members
Line up speakers for next 6 months and post the topics
Promote the "whole package" to encourage members to get more out of the meetings (i.e. don't come just for the presentation)
Create incentives to invite more and to speak
Encourage existing members to come to meetings
Leverage free PR, i.e. Star Tribune Community Calendar, Computer User, etc.
